About the Artist

Danny Tännler is a passionated freediver and waverider. Since his childhood his
life is connected to the ocean.
In the year 1992 he met a dolphin while he was fishing with his small boat far
out in the ocean. This experience changed his whole life.
He started to read everything which was related to this fantastic mammals and
he bought his first underwater camera.
As often as possible he went out to the ocean in his small boat to see his “new
friends” and to make photographs.
Beside the town Calpe in Spain, where Dannys parents live, the small bahamian
island “Bimini” became one of his loved places to swim with wild dolphins.
Danny can dive more than four minutes with one breath and the dolphins like to
follow him into the big blue deep.
Beside whales and dolphins Danny takes photographs of many other beautiful
and fascinating nature scenes. But all his pictures are always related to the
ocean.
I think, the ocean and the dolphins are his passion.

Beside of the C-5050 I use different smaller cameras, depending on the situation, above or underwater:

Because of the raugh conditions on the ocean I prefer to use simple and durable equipment. Two years ago I
switched to the digital photography. The OLYMPUS C-5050 is my basic tool:
